The Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting has become an official member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
The World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), a member of the International Music Council (UNESCO) with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, was founded in 1957 for the purpose of establishing a network of internationally recognized organisations.
The Federation currently comprises 116 internationally renowned music competitions, such as the International Tchaikovsky Competition of Russia and the International Chopin Piano Competition of Poland.
